The opening in Rouen of the process of beatification of Fr. Jacques Hamel, murdered a year and a half ago, coincides with pilgrimages to his parish and to the Roman church of St. Bartholomew on Tiber Island, where his breviary is deposited.

Jacques Hamel, martyred in his parish of Saint Etienne-du-Rouvray, is growing in France. Groups of pilgrims visit his parish and his tomb, and prayer cards are printed to invoke his intercession privately.
The opening of his diocesan process of beatification, confirmed by the Archbishop of Rouen (France), Msgr. Dominique Lebrun, has been possible because Pope Francis has dispensed from the five-year time limit to begin the causes of beatification.
