God in contemporary Spanish poetry

God in contemporary Spanish poetry

Carmelo guillén acosta

Literature is a reflection of the human soul and of the innumerable ways in which individuals perceive and understand the world around them. This collection of articles explores the works of different contemporary authors, both Spanish and foreign, whose conceptions of God and Christian culture have left, or are leaving, an indelible mark in their particular poetic manifestations. Although not all those selected are Catholics, it is easy to discover in each of them evangelical roots where Beauty and the desire for Truth are intertwined. Thus, the religious theme becomes an inexhaustible source of inspiration, reflection and positioning in the face of reality.

The compilation of these articles is intended not only to highlight the literary quality of the lyrical work of singular poets, many of whom are recognized worldwide, some of whom have yet to be discovered by regular readers of poetry, and others whose lyrical work is still in its infancy, but also to invite a broader analysis of the persistent resonance of Christian culture in the pages of world literature.

By focusing on authors from very diverse backgrounds, it becomes clear how the eternal questions about faith and human existence continue to resonate in the pages of their poetry collections. This offers a unique opportunity to better understand one's own interiority and the eternal search for meaning in our lives.
